Tribler

Tribler enables you to download or share contents over the Internet, via BitTorrents. Compared to other similar applications, Tribler has a simpler design, it is easier to use and it's more secure, due to its anonymity function. Furthermore, the application alloes you to preview what others are sharing and play media files with its built-in media player. You can have Tribler up and running in no time and you don't have to pay anything, since it's a freeware application.

If you are familiar with other BitTorrent clients, then you won't have any problems with Tribler. You can load torrent files, through a standard browsing option or by dragging and dropping the files over the user interface, to start downloading. Alternatively, you can provide magnet links to download contents directly, without retrieving a torrent file first. Also, before you start the actual downloading process, you may also activate Tribler's unique anonymity feature, to protect your identity.

The user interface has a clean and simple design and its controls are easy to spot. Besides a traditional view of active or inactive torrents, along with their peers, speeds and other statistics, you can also switch between different pages, where you will find a search engine, search results, channels and a video player.

Rather than looking for torrent files, you can search for free apps or media files among shared contents from other users. Each user can manage their own channel, from which other users can download free contents. What's more, users can play shared videos, without downloading anything and they can also add channels to a favorites list, so they can find them easier in the future.
